This entire fruit of the spirit series has been very eye-opening so far, and our faith study will be just as revealing…
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. – Romans 10:17
In order for our faith to develop and grow properly, we must “water” it with the Word. Getting the Word in us will remind us of all the reasons to trust God, and remember all of the promises that we are entitled to.
I encourage you to write down the faith Scriptures that we go over in this book, and remind yourself frequently of what God has done, is doing, and will do. Review what faith did for our brothers and sisters in the Bible. Let the Word come alive on the inside of you, and then you will acquire great faith!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. – Galatians 5:22-23
In the original Greek the word faith is pistis (pis’-tis) and means; credence, conviction of religious truth, or truthfulness of God. Reliance upon Christ for Salvation, constancy in such profession, assurance, belief, believe, fidelity.
Why is it so hard for us to simply believe what God says? Why do we doubt? It amazes me how quickly we will embrace the lies of the devil and then doubt God–the very one Who loves us more than any person ever could.
